HomeSaunaUSA is research-led. Every recommendation we publish is built on three sources of evidence:
- Manufacturer specifications and certifications, including ETL or UL listing, wood species, heater brand, stated EMF measurements, and warranty terms.
- Third-party lab reports where publicly available, such as EMF testing by Vitatech Electromagnetics and VOC testing by VERT Environmental. When a brand states an EMF value but does not publish a third-party report, we say so.
- Peer-reviewed research from journals such as JAMA Internal Medicine, European Journal of Epidemiology, and Age and Ageing for health claims. Observational studies are labeled as such, and we do not claim causation where only correlation has been shown.
We are transparent about what we have not yet done. As of April 2026, HomeSaunaUSA has not conducted in-house hands-on testing, EMF measurement, or VOC sampling of any sauna.
