Editorial Policy
HomeSaunaUSA exists to help American buyers make informed decisions about home saunas. This page documents the editorial standards we apply to every article on the site.
Sources and Fact-Checking
Every factual claim about a product, price, or specification is tied to one of three sources: (1) the manufacturer's official website or product literature, (2) a third-party certification body such as ETL or UL, or (3) an independent lab report such as Vitatech Electromagnetics for EMF or VERT Environmental for VOC testing. When a lab report is cited, we link to it or note where it is available.
Health claims are sourced only from peer-reviewed studies published in journals indexed on PubMed. We name the journal, year, and lead author. Observational cohort studies are labeled as such: association does not mean causation, and we do not present correlation-based findings as cause-and-effect.
Update Cadence
Pricing, EMF values, warranty terms, and lab certifications move over time. Every page on HomeSaunaUSA displays a clearly dated “Updated” stamp in the byline. We target the following cadence:
- Pricing and availability: quarterly review, ad hoc updates when we notice a change.
- EMF and VOC lab data: annually, or whenever a manufacturer publishes new testing.
- Health research: reviewed annually for new peer-reviewed findings.
- Structural page updates: flagged in the byline as “Updated: [date]”.
Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Independence
HomeSaunaUSA participates in affiliate programs with two sauna brands: Sweat Kingdom and Peak Saunas. When you buy through a link marked with an affiliate disclosure, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed in the footer of every page and in context near every affiliate link.
Affiliate commissions do not influence editorial content. We also review and compare brands we do not have an affiliate relationship with, including Sun Home Saunas, Clearlight, Sunlighten, Almost Heaven, Health Mate, Redwood Outdoors, Dynamic, and Golden Designs. When a non-affiliate brand has a stronger spec on a specific dimension (price, EMF, warranty, wood species), we say so.
We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or “editorial consideration” fees. We do not accept free products. Any future change to this policy will be disclosed here and in the byline of affected articles.
Corrections Policy
If you find a factual error on HomeSaunaUSA, email us through the contact form or at the company address listed in the footer. We read every correction request. Confirmed errors are fixed within five business days. A short correction note is added to the article, dated, describing what changed and why.
We distinguish between three types of edits:
- Correction: a factual error has been fixed. The change is noted at the bottom of the article.
- Clarification: the original statement was not wrong but could be misread. Wording is tightened.
- Update: a price, spec, or warranty has changed on the manufacturer side. The Updated date in the byline reflects the change.
Use of AI
HomeSaunaUSA is written and edited by human editors and AI, we also use AI tools for spell-checking, copy editing, and first-pass grammar review in the same way a writer might use Grammarly. We do not publish AI-generated reviews or AI-fabricated product specifications. Every health claim, spec sheet, and price is verified against a named human source before publication.
Medical Content Standard
HomeSaunaUSA is not a medical site and does not give medical advice. Health sections cite specific peer-reviewed research, distinguish between observational and interventional evidence, and clearly state when benefits are correlational. Readers are repeatedly directed to their own licensed healthcare provider before beginning a sauna routine, especially those with cardiovascular conditions, pregnancy, heat-sensitive conditions such as multiple sclerosis, or who take medications that affect heat regulation or blood pressure.
